EzeScan Presents at RMAA and Objective Annual User Conference

It has been a busy of couple months for EzeScan, we have recently exhibited at both the RMAA and Objective annual conventions in Sydney. On display were the new features for various integrations and EzeScan was invited to speak to conference delegates on both occasions (copies of these presentations are now available on request).

Delegates also saw EzeScan's new server product on display, showing customers their respective EDRMS systems being populated with scanned images and meta data from the front panel of a MFD device. Both shows were a great success.

EzeScan has 3 product streams available in the Product range:

  • EzeScan Scan Station (End User)
  • EzeScan Kiosk (Group)
  • EzeScan Server (Service)

New EDRMS Features in EzeScan 4.2

Objective

- EzeScan has a new Objective Document Type browse form. This form allows an operator to navigate through the available document types, exploring underlying catalogue and field types. The form has been added to the UPLOAD Objective connector making it easier to choose UPLOAD connector values for Document Type, Catalogue Type and Field Types directly from the Objective Server, rather than copying them in from a separate Objective Admin tool window.

SharePoint

- EzeScan UPLOAD can now populate different SharePoint content types and therefore the associated metadata fields.

- EzeScan KFI and UPLOAD can obtain information from a scanned document (i.e. a supplier name from an invoice) and will check to see a folder for the supplier exists in SharePoint. If not, EzeScan will create the supplier folder and place the scanned document into it. This workflow will save the operator having to check or manually create the folder as EzeScan is doing it!

WorkSite

- Interwoven WorkSite applies metadata to workspaces and folders. When EzeScan adds a document to a folder you can now inherit/apply the metadata from the folder to the document automatically.

New Features in EzeScan 4.2.11

New Redaction Features

- EzeScan now has the ability to add a Reason Code to redactions on an image. You can also redact whole areas with the ability to make selected words within that area transparent.

For example: the first paragraph below has been redacted but the phrase including "total value" needed to be left unchanged. The reason code is also added to the redaction (on the left).

- EzeScan now has an option to create a log file of all redaction activities performed on each page of a redacted document. This information is stored in a separate .rlg file.

New Barcode and KFI Exception Handling

- EzeScan has now made it easier for operators to manage their automatic jobs. If a Barcode or KFI exception occurs, EzeScan can email an operator notifying them of an exception so the operator can attend to it.

Tag Images

- As an operator performing QA on a scanned document, you may find the need to rotate, delete, or deskew pages. EzeScan now has an option that allows an operator to tag multiple pages so that all the tagged pages can be rotated or deskewed at once.

KFI Multiple Replace With Option

- When working with forms that require OCR, there can sometimes be issues identifying a . (dot) or think a . is a comma. In KFI an option has been added allowing multiple Replace With options. For example, an OCR may pickup "ezescancomau" KFI will automatically change the value to "ezescan.com.au" or "ezescan, com.au" will fix it to "ezescan.com.au"
