86. How to enable debug mode in EzeScan

If you are experiancing an issue with EzeScan it may help to load EzeScan in debug mode to see if any errors are logged.

Supplying a debug file to your EzeScan Support channel will also assist in making turnaround times quicker to resolve the problem.

To Enable Debug mode do the following:

1) Browse to C:\Program Files\Outback Imaging\EzeScan

2) Right click on EzeScan.exe and select "Create Shortcut"

3) Rename the Shortcut to EzeScan - Debug (place on desktop if required)

4) Right Click on the Shortcut and select Properties

5) In the target box you should see this at the end EzeScan.exe"

append the following to it EzeScan.exe" -debugfile

6) Click Apply then OK.

To Run in Debug Mode do the following:

1) Double click the icon and replicate the problem.

When EzeScan loads, you will see a debug window appear.

Check in there for any errors.

If the error is simple then perform the respective tasks to correct the issue.

If the error is more cryptic there will be a copy of this information in a file called debug.log in the C:\Program Files\Outback Imaging\EzeScan folder.

Send this file to your EzeScan Support techncian.

If possible it is recommended to export your EzeScan job. This will make it easier for your support technician to get an environment very close to yours.

Also remember to include the version \ build number of your EzeScan installation and steps to replicate the issue.
