69. How do I setup Ezescan to work with Kofax VRS TWAIN?

a. First you'll need to install the Scanners Kofax Driver. Test the scanner using the Kofax VCDemo application.

b. Once tested using VCDemo, then start EzeScan.

1. Start Job Admin (F6). On the Scanning tab you should be able to select the 'Kofax Software VRS - TWAIN' driver from the list in EzeScan of TWAIN Scanner sources. Set the Brightness, Contrast and Threshold values to 0 to disable them (they are controlled internally by the VRS driver). Save these scanner settings.  
2. The black separator pages used with EzeScan will not work properly when the Kofax TWAIN VRS driver is selected. During scanning it will keep popping up with a VRS window where the black page is shown as a white page and VRS says it has a Brightness Error.   
3. To overcome this problem, we have designed a separator page that can be used instead of our black separator page (Download VRS Separator Page Template).  This page is completely covered in text and is approximately 46% covered in black.
4. So print this page out (double sided if you are scanning in duplex). If you print it on light yellow paper it will make it much easier to spot the separator pages, for removal from the batch of hardcopy documents after scanning has been completed.
5. Assemble a batch of documents using the new separator pages.
6. Using EzeScan Job Admin (F6), Profiling tab, adjust the ‘%White Fill’ for Separator Pages from 10% to 58%. (Please note that 58% white = 42% black. We have allowed a 4% tolerance so that the new separator pages should work reliably).
7. Run the job and make sure your separator pages are detected and shown with a red border in the EzeScan Viewer.
