EzeScan 4.2 Features and Fixes

The information below is placed on this website to enable our customers, resellers and distributors to quickly ascertain whether an application enhancement or issue has already been implemented or resolved.

To use this information you will first need to go into EzeScan and the use Help->About option to display the screen that shows you the version number you have installed. Once you know the version number (say it's 4.2.4) then read down the list reading each versions comments until you reach your version.

Job Button Mode - resolved a problem with Import Folder mode and Keep Polling set to off. It was not reactivating the Job Button screen after processing images.
Viewer - resolved a problem with thumbnails being incorrectly highlighted if you appended or inserted scanned pages into an existing document in the viewer. Did not affect profiling, only visual highlighting was affected.
Workstation Options Form - added new 'Display batch identifiers at scan batch start" option to the Jobs tab. When ticked this will cause EzeScan to display the current batch identifier (i.e. batch prefix + suffix) value to the operator when a new scan batch is commenced. This option only works with the Job Admin Scan button, not the Import File or Import Folder buttons.

Routing Server - fixed an issue with Routing when it was set to import an index file with each imported image for use with KFI+UPLOAD. If the index file was missing the routing service would stop. We now wait for up to 20 seconds for the index file to appear, after the image was imported. If after 20 seconds the index file has not appeared, we move the image file to the routflow \errors folder for that route, and the routing service continues to run.
Routing Server - fixed an issue with Routing when it was set to import an index file with each imported image for use with KFI+UPLOAD. If the index file contained invalid or blank KFI metadata field data then the UPLOAD service would stop. When this error occurs we now move the image plus any index file to the routflow \errors folder for that route, and the routing service continues to run.

Discovery Form - added new Regex_Edit button and Regex_Edit form to allow you to utilise any of 4 types of regex functionality (Inputreplaceregex, findregex, skipregex and outputreplaceregex. I removed support for the regex=, regefind=, regexskip= and regexreplace= syntax that we used to use. If you were using them then you'll need to cut and paste the regex strings into the applicable new sections of the Regex_Edit form.

KFI Admin - When a field is moved, deleted or inserted we have implemented code that automatically repairs all KFI field references that would be broken by the move/delete/insert action. If you are using a custom KFI it also performs a move/delete/insert within the custom header, date and footer fields. This code does not however attempt to make any corrections to any UPLOAD connector that has been related to the KFI. It does however warn you to check your UPLOAD connector settings.
Viewer - Made a minor adjustment to the resize thumbnail function to properly resize thumbnails when a page number transition from 1 to 2 to 3 digits occurs.
Scanning - Fixed a problem with separator pages not being detected when scanning. Problem did not exist with Import Folder or Import File.

Upload TRIM - In TRIM when a container (e.g. 08/4) has a new file part created the container becomes closed (e.g. as 08/4-01) and new files can only be stored in the latest file part (e.g. 08/4-02). Now if we use 08/4 our code will automatically find the latest file part and store the image in there instead (.i.e 08/4-02)

This barcode image can then be inserted into any image for test purposes using the annotation toolbar 'Insert Picture' toolbar button.
TRIM EDRMS - added "Document Profiled By Ezescan" comment in the TRIM Notes field, after requests by several TRIM clients who were using it for audit trail purposes.
