Sales Consultant

Outback Imaging is an Australian software company that has been growing steadily for seven years with only a small sales team. An increase in sales has lead to the need to increase our sales team.

We already have a number of global customers, but growth in our install base will come from expanding our Reseller network, not direct sales.

Our sales approach is to provide our customers with a cost effective scanning solution specifically suited to their document capture requirements. We expect complete honesty and ethical behaviour in everything we do.

 

We need you to help us expand & enhance our current Australian reseller network and take us to the next level. We're a small company so your responsibilities will be diverse and may change from day to day, but will include:

  • Developing and executing a sales strategy for growth of our Australian Reseller network.
  • Performing front-line sales in Australia.
  • Together with the Outback Imaging executive staff, developing appropriate reports and metrics to track progress.
  • Helping the Outback Imaging R&D teams understand customer needs and objectives.
  • Helping the Outback Support teams understand customer problems and issues.
  • Reporting direct to the National Sales & Marketing Manager.

Requirements

  • Based in Sydney.
  • Ability to demonstrate products face to face or using conferencing software.
  • Experience recruiting new resellers.
  • Ability to train and coach new resellers.
  • Ability to project a positive sales attitude.
  • Very people-oriented, friendly demeanor and personable nature.
  • Self started/self motivator.
  • At least 4 years of experience in one or more of the areas of imaging, scanning, document management.
  • Strong knowledge of imaging technology industry products, services, and sales tactics.
  • Strong organizational and planning, teamwork and customer support skills critical.
  • Experience selling software and highly technical products.
  • A proven track record exceeding sales quota selling business solutions with expertise in negotiating and closing.
  • Proven ability in previous job.
  • Logging all customer contact on our internal CRM system.
  • Work with little supervision.
  • Permanent legal right to work in Australia.

This position is based from your own home office in Sydney, lots of telecommuting, and regular travel in Australia and possibly the wider Asia-Pacific region.
